Derek Faria (Guitar & Vox), Wesley White (Drums), Randall White (Bass) and Gareth Craig (Lead-Guitar) formed Karnage in late 1998 naming the band after the Marvel Comics megalomaniac serial killer Carnage, the guys started rehearsing and soon embarked on a slaughtering spree of their own  by stamping their mark on the Durban scene with their fast and hard hitting songs inspired by the likes of Slayer, Sepultura  and Morbid Angel .

With Randall Leaving to go on a sabbatical overseas  Andrew Radue (ex Hollow-Point now Chief Rebel Angel) filled the breech on the bass guitar adding his 2 tons of bottom end. Through the next several years Karnage played a plethora of gigs in many venues with bands like Gutted Remains, Agro, vVv, Logan Stone and Afflicted Truth and also getting into the finals of the first ever annual Burn The Band Competion. 

Sadly dude to many foreseen and un-foreseen reasons Karnage disbanded towards the end 2005.

Jump to 2007 almost 10 years after its inception Karnage are back with a vengeance with Andrew Lailvaux on drums with Gareth and Derek back on guitar duties .  Once again determined to spread violence and mayhem across the South African metal scene.
